Comparisons of changes blood CRP concentration and HOMA-IR were followed by %fat or cardiorespiratory function change after aerobic and resistance exercise in middle-age women
ABSTRACT
This study was to investigate that the %fat decrease and cardiorespiratory function increase after exercise program have an effect on decrease blood CRP, fibrinogen concentration and HOMA-IR in middle-age women. Sixty eight middle-aged women participated in this study. 4 groups were divided by changes of %fat and PEI of Harvard step test that showed over range of standard deviation in pre measurement result after exercise program. Subjects exercised 5 times per week, during 16 weeks, and combined exercise program (endurance and resistance exercise). Middle-age women improved body composition (BMI, %fat, visceral fat area) and cardiorespiratory function (PEI). Also, inflammatory markers (CRP, fibrinogen) and insulin resistance (HOMA-IR) showed a positive change. Especially, improvement of cardiorespiratory function may be independently affect about positive change of inflammatory markers more than decrease effect of body fat.
Key words: %fat, cardiorespiratory function, inflammatory marker, insulin resistance
