A Study on Effective of The Balance Training for 8 weeks on Stone Control in Curling Athletes
ABSTRACT
Park, G.W., Kim, W.H., Kim, K.H. A Study on Effective of The Balance Training for 8 weeks on Stone Control in Curling Athletes. Exercise Science, 15(2): 163-170, 2006. The aim of this study was to provide the basic data for the curling performance of athletes by investigating the effect of the balance training on the stone control in curling game. One of groups called EG(n=8) performed balance training and another called CG(n=8) performed stretching training during 8 weeks. The results are followed as: there were significant difference in balance test including static and dynamic balance(p<.05). In the direction factor of stone control, there were no significant difference between group but time(p<.05). In the distance factor, there were significant interaction between group and time(p<.05). According to the results, on the direction and distance control of curling, balance training during 8 week is more efficient than stretching training, moreover in the future study, we need to study the effect of mixing training by stretching and balance training.
Key words: curling, delivery, stone control, balance training
