ABSTRACT |
The purpose of this study is to find out the difference and relation between wingate test and isokinetic testing on high school rowers. This study also wants to applying the results as the basis of effective isokinetic training program for rowing.
10 male rowers(17.9±0.2 yrs) of high school participated in this s tudy. Isokinetic t est was conducted 48 h ours a fter wingate t est. Data from the variables were used to diagnose the subject's physical ability and to find the relations between isokinetic strength and anaerobic power. The correlation between the two tests demonstrated high school rowers indicated positive correlations between 1) right extensor and peak power(p<.01), average power(p<.05), 2) left extensor and peak power(p<.01), average power(p<.05), 3) right flexor, left flexor and average power (p<.05) in 6 0 °/sec, 4 ) righ t extensor a nd p eak power(p<.01), average power(p<.05), 5) left extensor and peak power(p<.01), average power(p<.05), 6) right flexor and average power(p<.01) in 180 °/sec. The results showed that isokinetic peak torque %BW at 60 °/sec on extensor was positively related with the only peak power on wingate test. The rower games were important to leg extensor power. However, isotonic training was difficult to measure strength ratio. Isokinetic training, however, makes it possible to identify strength ratio and prevent muscle imbalance in advance. This result suggested that isokinetic training program can be effective to the prevention of injury and increase of anaerobic ability. |
