ABSTRACT |
This study was to investigate the difference of heart rate variability (HRV) and blood pressure (BP) according to the posture and exercise type. Eight male university students (20.25±0.43 yrs) voluntarily participated in this study. HRV was assessed for 10 minutes at rest and 30 minutes during aerobic and resistance exercise separatedly. It was shown to be statistically significant differences in heart rate (p<.001), DBP (p<.05), mean R-R (p<.01), and LF/HF (p<.01) according to the difference posture. Heart rate, DBP, mean R-R, and LF/HF were shown higher in sitting and standing posture than supine posture (p<.01). It was shown to be statistically significant differences in heart rate (p<.001), total power (p<.05), VLFP (p<.01), LFP (p<.05), and LF/HF (p<.01) during aerobic exercise and heart rate (p<.001), total power (p<.01), VLFP (p<.01), and HFP (p<.05) during resistance exercise. According to the exercise type, it was shown to be statistically significant differences in heart rate (p<.01), VLFP (p<.05), and HFP (p<.01). SBP significantly increased after aerobic exercise. Therefore, HRV was shown differently according to posture and exercise type. The cardiovascular response to exercise was controlled through cardiac parasympathetic activity and peripheral sympathetic nerve activity by resistance exercise. |
