ABSTRACT |
The purpose of this study was to compare to the different between diabetic middle-age women(n=25) and age-matched healthy women(n=31) on body composition, lipid profiles, and DNA damage factors. The comparison of control and diabetic were no significantly difference of weight, BMI, %fat, WHR, BP and V̇O2max. The diabetic group was significantly higher in TG(p<.01), glucose(p<.001), HOMA-IR(p<.05), 8-OHdG(p<.01) than control group. HDL-C(p<.01),SOD(p<.05), mtDNA contents(p<.05) were significantly lower in diabetic group. We also studied about the middle-aged women with diabetes(n=8) and age-matched healthy controls(n=10) after 16 weeks combined exercise training. Weight(p<.001), BMI(p<.01),%fat(p<.01), WHR(p<.001), DBP(p<.05), glucose(p<.01) and HOMA-IR(p<.05) were significantly decreased after exercise training, and there was significantly different between groups in HDL(p<.05), TG(p<.01), glucose(p<.001), and SOD(p<.01). 8-OHdG was significantly decreased in diabetic group(p<.05), but mtDNA contents was increased but not significantly different. It was concluded that DNA damage was higher in diabetic group, however, after 16weeks combined exercise training, insulin resistance, 8-OHdG were decreased, and SOD was increased in diabetic group. In conclusion, the present study demonstrated |
