Effects of a 12weeks walking exercise and nutrition education on adiponectin and inflammatory cytokine in obese juveniles
ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of two exercise program(walking + nutrition education and walking) on body composition, adiponectin, inflammation markers IL-6, TNF-α, in obese juveniles. The subjects participated for this study were twenty one obese man(%fat: over 35%, age: 13-15 middle school student), and then they were divided into three group: walking exercise and nutrition education group(n=7), walking exercise group(n=7), control group(n=7). walking exercise was composed of treadmill ellipse instructions. The results were as follows: The weight, %fat, BMI and WHR of exercise group and the exercise nutrition group were decreased after treatment then before treatment, but the weight, %fat, BMI and WHR of the control group had no differences between treatments. The adiponectin were no difference among the group, but the adiponectin was increased after treatment then before treatment. The Inflammatory Cytokine IL-6 and TNF-α of the walking exercise nutrition education group and the walking exercise group were decreased after treatment then before treatment, Consequently, the decrease of IL-6 and TNF-α being secreted at obesity cells from weight decrease by walking exercise, nutrition education and the increase of adiponectin may restrict the occurrence of inflammation of obesity juveniles.
Key words: walking exercise, nutrition education, Adiponectin, IL-6, TNF-α
