The Effects of aerobic exercise on cardiovascular disease risk factor and cardiac function according ACE genotype in midle-aged woman
ABSTRACT
The aim of this study is to describe the effects of 12 weeks aerobic exercise on cardiac functions and risk factors of cardiovascular diseases caused by ACE gene polymorphism. ACE gene polymorphism among 32 middle aged women and divided into II, ID and DD type based on data. Then, aerobic exercise was conducted for 12 weeks, 3 times a week, 80 minutes each day so that cardiac functions and risk factors of cardiovascular system were analyzed using data. Since 12 weeks of aerobic exercise, better effects of exercise among gene polymorphism has been shown in DD type compared to other gene types while effects of exercise among gene polymorphism was found out to be same among polymorphism concerning serum levels of lipid and insulin resistance. Weaker cardiac functions and higher body composition which proves higher obesity rates, were found in DD type which is regarded as risk factors of cardiovascular diseases. It is believed to have an association with cardiovascular diseases that may be caused by obesity in the future. Therefore, DD type is thought to require more exercise to reduce morbidity of cardiovascular system
Key words: ACE genotype, cardiovascular disease risk factor, cardiac function
